Description
Untitled (Golden Danger) by Death NYC
Artist Proof, Silk-screen print, Signed and Certified
In this razor-sharp satire of fame, consumerism, and weaponized glamour, Death NYC delivers a visual gut punch. Supermodel Kate Moss and pop icon Rihanna are locked in a hyper-stylized embrace, equally sensual and confrontational, set against a backdrop of counterfeit โAmerican Depressโ credit cards, from the genius of Banksy. Each card is stamped with the number 666 and the words โSIGN YOUR LIFE AWAYโ mocking the soul-sapping cycle of luxury and debt.
The figures are rendered in icy monochrome, like ghosted tabloid photographs, yet punctuated by two electric details: a gold handgun provocatively placed between Mossโs lips, and her trademark hair bow. These vivid elements act like visual sirens, symbols of danger, seduction, and pop-cultural dominance.
This image dares the viewer to reconcile eroticism with critique, beauty with exploitation. The gun isnโt just an accessory, it becomes a metaphor for the weaponization of celebrity, desire, and influence in late capitalist culture. And the cards? A reminder that the price of fame, like luxury, is often invisible, but always owed.
With this work, Death NYC doesn’t just remix iconography, yet she hijacks it, turning fashion and fame into both spectacle and indictment.
Itโs glossy. Itโs grim. And itโs deadly accurate.
Sold framed as in picture.
